Jim’s Story

Jim Barber currently serves as Vice President of Tesco’s electrical division with oversight of alternative energy for electrical chargers dealing with residential, commercial and fleet services, as well as solar energy.

Barber, a 1982 BS in finance from Eastern Kentucky University and 1992 MBA from the Butler University School of Business, has over 30 years of experience in the electrical industry. 

Jim has worked with General Electric, Siemens and General Motors in leadership positions. Further, he has worked for one of the Midwest’s largest union electrical contractor’s.

Jim is married to Roberta and has four grown daughters and two granddaughters. He is a world renowned marathon swimmer and has completed five of the Ocean’s Seven Swim’s (including the English Channel, Cook Strait, Molokai Channel, Catalina Channel and Straits of Gibraltar) Jim is also a part of the Triple Crown of Swimming Hall of Fame. He has been a long time volunteer with the Indiana Sports Corporation and United States Masters Swimming. In his spare time he enjoys building houses, scuba diving and DIY projects.
